Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will focus on the technical aspects of financial reporting and regulatory

compliance for Aeropay. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities,

capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion in overseeing accounting operations

and reporting. This is an opportunity for an experienced self-starter looking to grow into

leadership of the full-cycle accounting function. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented

and has a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to support strategic decision-making

Account Reconciliation:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

General Ledger Management:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
  • Prepare journal entries and play a leading role in month-end close processes

Tax Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations affecting the organization

Audit Support:

  • Prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits and assist auditors as needed
  • Implement recommendations from audit findings to improve financial processes

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiency across the finance team
  • Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and streamline workflows

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Must possess a current CPA designation or demonstrate a near-term pathway to obtaining CPA licensing
  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or a related role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Excel skills
  • Experience working with general ledger systems, AR/AP systems and data visualization tools
  • Highly organized with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
